I’ve been in awe of the power of words since I was a child, and learned that a well-crafted story can change your world. I’ve worked with words for the last 25 years, as a fundraiser, copywriter, proofreader, transcriber, blogger and entrepreneur.
In the last 12 years I’ve proofread and edited many different types of text, including non-fiction books, website copy, art, fashion and travel magazine articles, academic publications and more. I also work with non-native English speakers, editing texts so that they read naturally to an English speaking reader.
In 2019 I trained as a technical editor for knitting patterns. I’m a passionate knitter and spinner, and I also design knitwear. It seemed the logical step to marry my proofreading skills with my love of knitting.
I’m an entry-level member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP). You can also find me at Cat & Sparrow UK, where I dye and sell products for knitters, crocheters and spinners.
I live in Bristol with my husband and two children.
